Your Brain, the Web and Universe

I was just being a social butterfly at Facebook the other day and talking with some good old friends. It’s really one of the coolest websites for you to meet all kinds of great people from the past and present. I have well over 100 new and old friends that I have collected over the last 31 years. My old school sweat heart Andrea, good ole’ buddies like Darren, Peter, Miro and lots of family.

I decided to express an opinion to my Facebook friends about the similarities between the web , the way we think and the universe. This is the actual conversation so far.

Robert believes your brain and the web are 2 in the same.

AT Artificial Intelligence that’s where Information retrieval is heading. Links=neurons
Topics & interest ( ontology) = Area of brain which becomes specialized and becomes dense with more synaptic connections

Robert Kennedy at 7:14pm October 16the web
Link=Neurons, that is a great analogy.

Nitin, you have made quite a few great comments that I have noticed. One might think we are related or work together?

Last night whilst pondering the likeness between the web and thought processing I went over to the site in my note file and started viewing images as seen through the Hubble.

What’s amazing… Read More to me is the fact we can now see soooo much more of our galaxy with Hubble. All we have gotten from it is MORE QUESTIONS than answers.

“MORE QUESTIONS” you are spot on Rob. It’s this perpetual sense of wonderment that gives us human beings some meaning in life. We look at the ‘pillars of life’, crab nebulae etc & peer into the furthest horizons of universe theorize whether universe is fractal or homogeneous and only to realize that life is the scarcest thing in universe.

WOW, incredible but true. I also think we would be silly to assume that we are the only living beings in the universe. Are there parallel universes? Have you ever gone somewhere and had the feeling you’ve been there before, even though you haven’t? Maybe the truth in our lives is only revealed when we expire?

I was saddened today to hear the about the passing of Valsan, but he knows the answer. I only spoke with him a few times but got the feeling he had a BIG HEART.

The more we learn about the unknown, the more we realize how little we know.

RIP Valsan, we will all meet one day in the same place!

I don’t want to sound like I’m way out there but your brain, the universe and the web have striking similarities. Try a few quick Google searches followed by clicks on hyperlinks and you’ll begin to see the similarities. You can gain a greater understanding on any topic in a matter of moments. This unprecedented wealth of information is there for knowledge hungry people. Take a look across the universe and see how galaxies are distributed. See the universe closer than ever before!

Mapped Brains

There are creative webmasters that have developed sites that allow you to map out your own neuron pathways. Many think this method of linking a website is a superior method of site navigation. On one hand you allow the website visitor to interact with your website on the other hand persuasive advertising needs to be re-designed. In this scenario, a user would select there own trigger words. If the webmaster has the right tracking in place the information gained is a pathway to conversion.

Why do you think so many things are FREE on the net? It’s the information that has value! There is no free lunch.
