Work at Home, Earn Extra Money by Writing
Posted on June 28, 2007
The World Wide Web as we know it today is huge, the opportunity for earning extra money on the internet is abundant. Every minute of everyday, people all over the world are logging in, online. The one basic ingredient they all share is the thirst for information. As a writer you have the skills and the knowledge to fill this void. Your earnings can only increase dramatically.
They say that there is a book inside all of us, but few people ever attempt to put pen to paper or in today’s modern world, finger to keyboard. Many budding writers dream of publishing that best-selling novel which in turn is sold to Hollywood for a blockbuster movie deal. In reality of course this seldom happens. However a steady income can easily be earned from writing, whether chosen as a career or to write in your spare time for extra money.
The market for writing today is vast. Not only is there the traditional route, writing novels fiction or non-fiction, stories short or long for publications. But there is also a large opportunity for writers to earn money using the internet.
You will discover online companies that publish articles where payment to the writer is dependant on readers clicking on the sponsors advertisements within the article’s pages. Another way to increase your income is to write reviews for consumer sites, some pay for submission, again some pay per click.
Personal blogs have grown immensely over the past few years; with revenue paying ad’s accompanying the bloggers content. The experience of writing regularly to your blog is immeasurable. If you maintain this posting over a period of time, there are companies who will pay you to blog for other blogsites.
A word of caution though, there are plenty of scams around. Job opportunities, disguised as writing positions. Beware of sites that offer you the chance to ‘work in your pajama’s’ earning thousands overnight ‘while you sleep’. Basically these companies charge you a fee, supposedly backed up by a refundable guarantee. Do not believe this hype; check out the forums that are full of warnings about these so called ‘companies’. They take your money, tell you to write an advertisement placing your affiliate code at the bottom and hey presto you are rich! Only you are not, not a cent. As for the guarantee, not worth the time you spent reading it. Good luck trying to claim a refund. No respectable company is going to charge you any money to work for them.
How to sites and guides form valuable services to the budding writer. There are as shown above pitfalls to avoid. Today no-one has to go it alone, communication with others is one of the most successful aspects of the internet. Any site with a help page always contains a ‘contact us’ point, use it, when it comes to the writing profession you will always find a friendly answer to anything you wish to say.
Author Bio: I have made a career out of writing throughout my life. Now I would like to share my knowledge and know how with you. This led me to start a web site dedicated for all budding writers who want to earn extra money and increase your income from writing at home. Do, What, Who, or Why Write, Submit, and to Who?
Posted on June 26, 2007
Repeatedly, I hear website owners should write articles. I also hear “build the list”. Manually, I click on emails saying drive traffic to your site, get this free report”. I advised to link things here, and back link there, send out newsletters, get a solid product, get google adsense, buy ads, and have affiliates, wow!
Blinking through the multitude of meaningful advice, I ask myself what is the one thing do I need to do, if only one thing, mindful of task, clean and simple, do I do? Alternatively, try it this way: In order to increase traffic or business to my site/product, what one thing do I do that works? Answer: “Write”. What do I write? Answer: “Articles”. Simple answers do not necessarily mean simple solutions, but in this case, writing articles and article distribution is a simple task, relatively easy to implement, with potential immeasurable rewards.
I am going to assume I just finished my first article, and know if my guts it is a good article. Now what? Keeping it dead-on simple, I know need to employ the mysterious tactic of article distribution. It really is not that mysterious after all, as I see distribution involves the use of websites known as article directories. There a large collection of articles is hosted, and categorized according to topic.
Naturally, the topic of my article will be most important in its proper handling within the directory. It also follows that my article, with an appropriate topic, related as directly as possible to my website and/or product I am selling. Now I am ready to consider, one last time, the content of my article. Since I have a product that I believe in, I will include in my article the special key features of my product. My website, with a ready-available link, will have the full details of my product.
Part of the mystery of article distribution is that More is Not Better. If a good article makes circulation, it is my natural inclination to think I should submit 150, in one week, and really round-up some traffic! A reasonable goal is five per month. In this manner, new, updated, fresh information is available to customers to read and absorb. Writing articles is a simple, relatively easy, conscientious, and reliable tactic to attract traffic to a business, especially if done on a consistent basis.

Does Your Website Need Help?
Posted on June 19, 2007
There are a lot of small business owners that we talk to that are not happy with the results of the website that they paid a web site design company to build for them, or the traffic they paid an internet marketer to generate. They complain that the site is plain or is hard to update or that is has received little traffic or generated the few sales.
The blame lies with the small business as much as the web site design company. When small businesses hire web site companies they tell the designers basically what they want but leave most of the decision up to the designer. This is a mistake. Building a website is very similar to building a house. When building a house you pick out the house plan not the builder. You decide the colors of the walls, the type of siding, color of the shingles, what carpet, which cabinets, and so on. But with a website people leave this all up to the designer.
If you are going to have a website built then you need to take responsibility for a lot of the design and most of the content. The first thing to do is develop a set of goals for your website. Is it going to be used to generate new business or a place to direct existing customers? This will determine what kind of website is best for your needs.
Then you need to develop a list of functionality and information that you want the website to contain. Also, note what information will need updating and which is static and will never change. It is important to have an easy way to change information that is changed often. There are to many outdated websites on the internet already.
Next scout other websites on the internet until you find one that has the look you like or some functionality that would be good for your site to have. Or several that you like parts of. Being able to show a website designer an example of what you have in mind makes it very easy for them to meet your needs.
This is the easy part so far. You have enough info to give your designer a list of functionality and some example websites that look like what you have in mind. Now you have to decide what color schemes you want, what kind of font. The colors and font of a website set its tone. Is it professional or casual? Is it serious or fun? These might seem like trivial details but they matter. No matter how good the designer you need to direct them. You don’t need the exact font, but tell them weather you want a professional or casual font; Soothing or bright colors. All of this extra work will help you be more satisfied with the end product.
Next comes traffic. This is usually the job of an internet marketer but most web companies offer both services. We often hear complaints by people who launch an internet business and then do not receive the traffic they expect.
First of all, submitting your website to the hundreds of search engines will not produce a lot of traffic. It is a small part of an overall internet marketing campaign. Also, this is a service that is provided free by most web hosts and you should not be spending money on it. This merely gets your website listed in the various search engines. To receive traffic you need to gain enough strength so that when a searcher searches on a keyword relevant to you that your website shows up. This takes time and effort and will not be achieve by simply submitting your website.
A lot of websites are used as a tool for its organization to spread information or as a brochure for a small business to direct its customers. These kind of sites are not looking to generate traffic and do not need an internet marketing strategy. But if you are running an ecommerce site or a website to generate sales leads for your business then you need an internet marketing plan.
This plan will consist of several parts a search engine strategy for both organic listings and paid listings, a grassroots plan to generate traffic by writing articles, posting in forums, and in general becoming an online expert for you niche. And an online advertising plan for banner ads.
Long term, establishing yourself as the online expert in a field and developing a strong search engine ranking for the keywords relevant to your business is very important. This will allow you to generate traffic without spending advertising dollars. Early you will need to advertise to generate visitors and revenue but over time your advertising dollars should decrease. This should be the long term objective of all internet businesses.
To achieve this you will need a comprehensive plan, and the discipline to stick with it when no one is visiting your website. It is hard to outsource some of an internet marketing campaign to an Internet marketing company because you are the expert. It is hard for an internet marketing company to produce your level of expertise in your business. Internet marketing companies are excellent for managing ad campaigns, creating banner graphics, and teaching you search engine optimization and grassroots marketing. In search engine optimization and grassroots internet marketing a lot of the work is producing content(articles, guides, tutorials, etc.) in your niche and becoming known at expert sites in your area and forum boards that you are an expert in this niche and a place to go. You cannot outsource this expertise. You can hire someone to teach you how to do it but you need to do it.
To get satisfaction out of your website and have it generate the traffic and new business that you want, you need to take ownership and be involved in the design, content, and internet marketing. You can have a web company build the site but you need to drive the design and functionality. You can also have an internet marketing company setup a marketing plan and teach you the basics of search engine optimization, but you need to become the online expert in your niche and produce as much quality content for that niche as you can.

What do you Get From Article Submission?
Posted on June 19, 2007
Article submissions is one of the most common strategy being used to get more links and visitors into a website. This is why the process has been done for years now and is not showing any signs of letting up.
Why is article submission important?
One of the main reason is that the online world is always on the lookout for new, fresh and quality contents. For every online business to grow, contents should regularly be updated for visitors to read once they visit or revisit the website.
How does your article submission answer this need?
When you submit articles to submission sites, you allow other people to pirate, reprint or republish your articles on other websites. When they see that your articles are relevant and has the information they need, they would definitely want them posted on their site.
How do you benefit from these things?
Publishers are required to reprint your articles with your links in them. This is your right. Other publishers know about this. In order for them to get the new information published, your link and author rights are kept intact. This basically means that you get to market your business and website without having to work hard for it. All you ever did was to submit them to article submission sites and let them distribute your articles for you.
An article that is interesting gets a lot of readers. When people are caught up in your articles, there is no stopping them from visiting the link that is there in the content. Keep in mind that people reading your articles are searching for something that is very much related to what you have to offer. In no time, you will find your readers are converted to visitors and even potential customers. That easy.
Some online businesses are making use of ghostwriters to do the writing for them if they are not capable of coming up with the contents themselves. And these owners are also enlisting the help of other people to do the submissions for them. It can be noted that article submission cannot really be considered a piece of cake. Focus, time, effort and full understanding of the guidelines are required.
Furthermore, most article submission sites are already aware of spam and software used for submitting articles. That is why most of them have spam guards, check and codes that needed to be encoded manually. This is the reason why manual submissions are important.
Article submissions may be a tedious and time-consuming work. But for all the good it can do to your website, it is sure worth all the effort. Besides, you can always get other people to do it for you. That is what they do best anyway.
Agents of Value aims to provide premium and inexpensive outsourcing services by providing professional programmers, graphic designers, journalists, researchers, and link builders to help you and your business grow.

Marketing Tips for Freelance Translators
Posted on June 13, 2007
I hope that this article may be of use to freelance translators from different countries marketing their services around the world.
If you are a freelance translator and want to get more clients, there are several guidelines that I can recommend you.
First of all, you should understand, if you can’t sell your services, you won’t earn any money.
1. Make a proper planning. Sit down with a pen and paper and think in the following:
a. Objective public: agencies, companies…
b. How to reach them? Do you have a database with their e-mails?
Today email marketing is one of the easiest, most convenient ways to market your services.
After several weeks of Internet searching, I found and bought three databases of translation agencies email addresses. One of them is SkyLink Translation Agencies database http://translationagenciesemaillist.com. It now includes more than 4800 email addresses (the biggest and the most up to date one on the net). I would rate this database as the most valuable one, since it was the only one that actually brought me clients. The second database of translation agencies (www.macroconsulting.com) is also not bad; it now includes over 800 e-mail addresses. The third ( www.translatortips.com) one is out-dated.
Dear colleagues, don’t waste your time. Using a ready list you will save months of your time.
When to send the e-mails? Fridays are not a good day. The best days to send an e-mail are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
2. Translate your CV in several languages. If you are going to send your CV to different countries, please, send it in their own language. The person who sees your CV doesn’t necessarily speak English.
3. Write an impressive and concise e-mail. Say what they want to know, not what you’d like them to know. Things an agency/company cares when receiving a CV in an e-mail:
a. Languages you translate
b. Your fees
c. Expertise
d. Experience
Of course you would like them to know that you are fantastic and that you have studied abroad, you have several courses…. But they don’t read. If you gives them in a snapshot a clear image of what you are, they will probably open your CV. Don’t forget to state your full name and your working pairs!
4. Some computer-virus-aware agencies are quite harsh in saying that absolutely no e-mail attachments will be accepted, that any messages containing them will be promptly deleted before opening. They ask for the CV to be pasted onto the message body instead. So you shouldn’t send any attachments. This is really important.
5. References–This is really a very delicate matter. Some agencies won’t let an applicant upload an online form unless three (never fewer, never more than 3) references are given, with name, company, telephone and/or e-mail address.
6. Send and check. Once you have sent your e-mails, check regularly your inbox and answer your messages straight away.
7. Create your own website. Don’t worry, you don’t need to pay hundreds of euros to have your own website. It is very likely that your Internet Service Provider (the company you pay to get connected to Internet), offers you a domain and a hosting (space to load your website). It is also very likely that they offer you a template. Otherwise you can find hundreds of “free templates” in Internet.
8. Include a photo of yourself. When agencies or companies receive your e-mail with your CV, they need to put a face to that CV. It is very important that your photo looks professional. Wearing a suit will give a very impressive image of yourself.
9. Never quit marketing. Once you have steady work, it’s tempting to think that agencies will keep contacting you, freeing you from the hassle of contacting new prospective clients and touching base with previous contacts. However, this is a bad assumption. Work flows go up and down, agencies go out of business, the project manager who loves you quits and is replaced by someone who brings in his/her own person, etc. Plus, you never know when an “out of nowhere” project offer will be perfect for you, and/or allow you to raise your rates. Even though I usually have about as much work as I can handle, I still send my resume to 3-5 new agencies per week just to keep the ball rolling. Recently, one of these agencies (in Europe) contacted me with a multi-thousand dollar project because I was the only U.S.-based French to English translator in their database, and a client wanted a project translated into U.S. English
10. Remember, the only way to survive as a translator is to do a good job. …
These tips reflect my experience as a translator and my own opinions. Feel free to use them in your own work

Pointers In Hiring An SEO Company
Posted on June 13, 2007
Webmasters need to know search engine optimization (at least the basics) before hiring an SEO company. It is crucial that you have some background information about SEO to be able to find the best SEO company and at the same time bring out the best result in the search engine optimization campaign.
How can your knowledge of search engine optimization help you achieve a better judgment in the choice of an SEO company and at the same time, achieve the best results for your SEO campaign? Here are the benefits of SEO knowledge in relation to hiring an SEO company:
- No Black Hats Please Your knowledge of SEO will help you determine whether the company you are eyeing at are using risky tactics or the so called black hat search engine optimization techniques. This gives you the chance to focus your eyes on other companies since black hat techniques will only cause your website’s failure.
- What Do You Mean By Recommendations? If you have knowledge of the SEO process, you will better understand the recommendations set forth by your potential SEO Company. You will also be able to evaluate whether the recommendation will deliver positive results to your website.
- Formulate Practical Expectations If you have background information on SEO, you will be able to formulate realistic expectations in terms of the results. The information erases all over and under expectations. It keeps the balance between what the company is going to do and what you want to achieve. Some webmasters are expecting for an overnight result on their search engine optimization campaign. This is something that a well informed webmaster would not think about.
- Only The Best SEO Company Webmasters who know the search engine optimisation process are more likely to find the best SEO company. Their knowledge of the process will help them evaluate whether the SEO company they are eyeing at is worth their investment.
Knowledge of the search engine optimisation process helps webmasters get ready in hiring an SEO company. It gives more value to the investment they are putting into the search engine optimisation campaign. Don’t just jump into hiring an SEO Company with zero knowledge about the process, otherwise, you might be spending your dollars on campaigns that don’t work.

Google AdSense Making it Work for You
Posted on June 5, 2007
About Google Adsense
The Google AdSense is a program designed by Google that can make advertising revenue for your site. Google AdSense is available in many languages. Websites are being created everyday all over the world, using this potentially huge moneymaker to their advantage. This program is owned and operated by Google and is known as Google AdSense. AdSense has proven to be a great way to make extra money any day, anytime even even when you are on vacation. The AdSense program is a great way to increase your earnings online. Google AdSense is a rock solid Pay per Click program that will be here for a long time. For webmasters that don’t know about it you’re missing out. From my experience Google AdSense is worth the bother of the sweet, simple installation that starts displaying money making ads the minute you install it.
Good Content, Placement and Keyword Density
Once you are approved Google starts by sending their AdSense Bot to your site to determine the theme. It is also rumored that The AdSense Bot is helping Google index more sites . Google maintains that the AdSense bot has no affect on your natural ranking in the Google index but is a great tool for helping them index and detect cloaked pages. However, once your site is crawled relevant text and/or Image ads will appear. Websites with genuinely helpful content and relevant incoming links will help establish your website as an authority. Once your are seen as an authority site your AdSense earnings tend to climb rapidly. When preparing and placing your content, use the correct keywords, density and headings tags on the page so the AdSense Bot can easily determine relevant ads to display. Arguably, good content is one of the most important elements to have on your site for best AdSense Results. Good, helpful, original and relevant content is adored by the search engines. Most will agree that “Content is King” online.
Best Ad Placement?
You won’t get very many click thrus if you hide your ads, on the other hand MFA (Made for AdSense) sites are getting devalued by Google and so they should. I have my best success with ads with content integrated (blended) with your ads. You can apply any color scheme you wish to your ads and many webmasters like to blend ads with their website’s color theme. If you want to optimize your potential AdSense revenue, stay on topic with high update frequency (more spiderable content added).
Website Requirements
The only real essential requirement is you need to have a website. The size of your website really doesn’t matter although I recommend at least 5 finished, functional pages. Try to get other website’s linking to your website, the engines see this as a vote to your site and it can have a positive effect on your rankings. It is believed that your website’s ranking has a strong influence on your EPC See Adwords News or Smart Pricing. You will need traffic (visitors) to your site to earn money; many ads that you display on your site will likely be in the area of .01 cent to $1.00 per click but don’t be too surprised when you see $2, 3 or my highest $9/click. There are a few acceptations that are not accepted in the Google AdSense program. That being the case, read the reason why you were rejected, implement the necessary changes and reapply. Themed, content rich, well raked sites seem to be the secret to optimized earnings with AdSense. Many webmasters already have a website full of quality content, but have yet to discover the potential of this great program. With Google, you must comply with their program policies, they really do not mess around with any form of fraud. Google keeps a close eye on how their ads are displayed and they will ban you immediately if you break the TOS. They are known to have some of the finest click fraud detection software in the world.
