Google AdSense™ is a new contextual ad pro

gram offered by Google which allows advertisers to have their ads appear on a syndicate network of sites served by Google. Google AdWords™ text ads are served to these web sites. The program was met with skepticism at first and click through rates in the beginning were poor. Few thought that the AdSense advertising program would be preferred by affiliate program users, yet it appears affiliate programs are feeling the pinch.

With Google AdSense™, participating web site publishers can gain not only a certain rate of revenue per click when their visitors click on one of the ads, they're also receiving free relevant content. The ads come on two formats, one, a horizontal banner where two ads are usually displayed. This format is fairly unobtrusive yet has enough presence to gain attention.
